The Gallery at TSTI exhibition focuses on artists who "act as guardians of the soil" and engage with ecological and environmental concerns. Artists who see nature as "living artwork." Their creative efforts send a strong message that we must preserve the beauty of our planet and actively work to improve its health and maintain its viability. Protecting the environment is not only just, but an existential responsibility.

LANDS AND SYMBIOTIC FUTURES
Oct 3, 2024 to January 31, 2025

Online at WEAD’s Kunstmatrix Gallery
https://artspaces.kunstmatrix.com/en/exhibition/13409738/lands-and-symbiotic-futures
Human relationships with lands and soils are deep and complex, sometimes based on listening and reciprocity, sometimes scarred by exploitation and toxicity. From colonization, war, and industrial agriculture, to reciprocity, stewardship, and respect; from minute microbial life to vast landscapes; lands and soils reflect choices to live in unity with, or in subjugation of, the natural world. WEAD invited stories of land, soils and visions for the future, both ecological and cultural.

I'm pleased that two images from my Turbulent Margins Project will be included in Studio Montclair's "Dwelling in Hope" exhibition. This show conveys images that express the concept of finding hope in the familiar, everyday aspects of our lives. The two photographs selected were taken after a flood along the Third River in Nutley, New Jersey. The resilience of plants to rebound addressed the theme of the show.

NEW YORK—The Anya and Andrew Shiva Gallery, John Jay College, is pleased to announce our current exhibition Artful Partners. This exhibition, curated by Thalia Vracholopoulos, indicates how art can in a meaningful way mold relationships, reflecting as such, internal sentiments or innermost thoughts that ordinary human interaction, in all its forms, is unable to express or even comprehend. Artful Partners contains artworks in varying art media created by several international artist couples that delve into an artistic microcosm of countless relations, memories, and dreams.  First and foremost, this exhibition emphasizes the vital importance of mutual communication between people, which, if stretched out from the inside locus of a relationship to the outside field of the macrocosm and the contemporary world, is beyond doubt necessary. To borrow a term from botany, this cross-pollination works to transfer ideas from one area or medium to another, resulting in new and innovative forms. These novel possibilities are responses, nurtured within the couple’s environment, that demonstrate the interplay between individuals based on critical interconnection and close observation.
