American Amnesia questions nuclear history and the fall-out of war. How does war affect our psyches, bodies, environment, and relationships?  Where do uncovered memories, unspoken stories, and artifacts exist? This work documents secreted and forgotten regional Cold War-era nuclear missile sites. The government hid nuclear bases in plain sight. In place from 1950-1979, the stations were buried beneath ridge-lines in suburban neighborhoods surrounding major U.S. cities. These sites still exist abandoned, unremembered, and repurposed. These places raise metaphoric questions. How does the past speak to the present? Where have we been, and where do we go from here?
