Independence Day (2018-) documents a gathering of people celebrating a significant shared cultural event in the history of American revolutionary action⎼ Independence Day. Images imply narratives inspired by themes of memory, identity, and place. The photographs build on a scaffold of fragility and hidden emotion using multiple views, oblique perspectives, and blurred images. The camera, like a silent witness, captures fleeting moments of what might otherwise remain unseen.
